Capcom held an Exoprimal network test: Here’s 4 hours of gameplay

Capcom held the first of its planned Exoprimal closed network tests on Sunday, and you can see over 4 hours of gameplay footage captured by content creators below.

Exoprimal was first revealed in March during a PlayStation State of Play presentation. Set in 2043, it has players taking control of an Exofighter as they try to figure out why mysterious vortexes have been opening up, unleashing endless swarms of dinosaurs.

Capcom has a further two network tests planned for the coming weeks, both of which will be held for the Steam version of the game only.

The second test will be available to players worldwide, will take place on July 25 at 00:00 UTC and will last six hours. The third and final test will be on August 7 and will last 24 hours.

Capcom stresses that the aim of the tests is “to find issues that can be addressed in order to improve the quality of the game”, and that “as a result, we cannot guarantee a smooth gameplay experience”.

Players can submit an entry to join the closed network tests on the Exoprimal website.

Although it’s not yet known whether Exoprimal is set in the same universe as the Dino Crisis games, Hiroyuki Kobayashi – who was co-designer on the first Dino Crisis and produced Dino Crisis 2 and 3 – has confirmed that he’s working on the game.

Kobayashi recently tweeted that he was “deeply involved” in a new title, then proceeded to list all the series he’d worked on in the past, including Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma.

Exoprimal will be released in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
