PSP game Resistance: Retribution has been rated for PS4 and PS5

The 2009 PSP game Resistance: Retribution has been rated in South Korea, suggesting it may be coming to the PlayStation Plus retro catalog.

As spotted by Gematsu, the game received ratings for both the PS4 and PS5, meaning a re-release is likely on the way.

Retribution was the third game in the Resistance series, released between Resistance 2 and 3 on PlayStation 3.

The handheld spin-off has players controlling a British marine called James Grayson, who’s on a mission to destroy as many Chimera ‘conversion centers’ as he can following an incident in which he had to kill his own brother to prevent him being turned into a monster.

The game was well received by critics and currently has an average score of 81 on Metacritic.

One of Retribution’s main selling points was its variety of online multiplayer modes, but Sony disabled the multiplayer servers in 2015. It’s not clear if multiplayer will be enabled again when the game is added to PlayStation Plus.

The new PlayStation Plus service, which includes three membership tiers (Essential, Extra and Premium), is expected to launch in Japan on June 2, North and South America on June 13, and Australia, New Zealand, and Europe on June 23.

The top tier, Premium, gives players access to a library of classic PS1, PS2 and PSP titles to download, as well as cloud streaming access to a PS3 library.

Ubisoft has also announced that its Ubisoft+ subscription service is coming to PlayStation, with a Ubisoft+ Classics range coming to PlayStation Plus.

So far, Super Stardust Portable and Ridge Racer 2 are the only PSP games confirmed for the service.
