It Looks Like PS Plus Premium Will Include Classic Toy Story 2 PS1 Game

Slowly but surely, more and more classic games are being confirmed for PS Plus Premium, and it looks like Toy Story 2 will be on it as well.

Although PS Plus Premium will not launch in North America until June 13, it is rolling out across Asia today. This has led to new reveals, such as the inclusion of more PS1 and PSP games on PS Plus (namely Ridge Racer 2 and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee), and more. A list of game trials for PS Plus Premium has also leaked online, and beyond that, many are looking to the Asian titles to see what to expect when it launches next month.

One thing to keep in mind is that it’s highly likely that some areas will have access to, or lack access to, certain titles. It’s still not a bad metric to gauge by, but it’s something to keep in mind. Still, some fans are excited over the reveal of yet another PS1 title on PS Plus Premium, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescueas noted by Redditor NonGetGudPlayer.

It should be noted that the game received mixed and/or average reviews at launch, but that doesn’t mean much compared to nostalgia. Many fans are no doubt nostalgic for this game, as it ties into the Toy Story 2 film. Players begin at Andy’s house, Woody gets stolen, and Buzz, Hamm, Rex, Slinky Dog, and Potato Head all have to rescue him. They’ll explore several locations seen in the Toy Story 2 movie, such as Al’s Toy Barn, Al’s penthouse, and the airport terminal.

While many will likely wait to see the entire PS Plus Premium game list before deciding to subscribe or not, it’s worth noting several of the titles being floated around now are being warmly welcomed. In fact, it seems to encourage some fans to hope for other classic games on PS Plus. As seen above, for example, Redditor NonGetGudPlayer was excited about this but also hoped for Bugs Bunny: Lost in Time!

Another Redditor was quick to express hope that Mickey’s Wild Adventure will be on there too. With how important video game preservation has been in the past year or two, it seems that PS Plus Premium has a ton of potential to preserve these nostalgic titles and give fans a way to play them. Of course, it’s not all older titles either.

The PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 titles are certainly welcome, but there will be plenty of PS4 and PS5 titles available for PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium subscribers. PS Plus boasts a launch library of 700+ games, so chances are, everyone will find something they want.

PS Plus Premium releases June 13.
