Valorant is one of the biggest FPS titles on PC and has a huge esports following, but could it finally be heading to console?
The Riot Games IP has been on the wish list for many PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players for quite some time, but up until now, it didn’t look like it could genuinely be a possibility.
Through datamining, leaks and even an announcement from Riot themselves, it’s looking like the prospect of Valorant on console is not all that far off.
Here’s everything you need to know about the potential of Valorant being ported to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox One.

Valorant-Console
Associate Producer for Gameplay on the title, Amelia, recently tweeted about some job openings at Riot.
She noted: “A few of these open roles are on my team, namely design lead for console, tech lead for console.
“You’ll get to help explore and carve out possible new futures for valorant and riot, *and* we’re really cool so please apply.”
Whilst this isn’t an exact confirmation that the game is coming to consoles, it seems to prove that Riot is at least considering the port.

Leaks
The tweet from the Riot Games’ employee follows a datamining leak back in February 2022 that indicates that the console version might be closer than we think.
@ShiinaVLR, a prominent name in the Valorant leaker community sent out a tweet indicating that Xbox and PlayStation had been mentioned in the game’s code.
They wrote: “Console release for VALORANT might be closer than actually expected. These strings were added to the files today:
– ‘Connection to “PSN” has been lost.’
– “Connection to Xbox LIVE has been lost.’
“The ‘PSN’ & ‘Xbox Live’ strings added to the game files are not primarily used for text that appears in the game, but mainly for backend purposes. Console version is still happening, but not VERY soon! I learned this in a brief conversation with @ValorLeaks”

So, whilst it’s not likely that we will be seeing the console version anytime soon (or even before 2023), it’s likely that the game WILL be coming to consoles at some point.

React Players
Even with the FPS title coming to consoles, a number of players are not happy that Riot has decided to make the ports.
One player on Twitter reacted to @ShiinaVLR’ post, writing: “This game isn’t built for console lol. I hope there’s no crossplay.”
Another player would agree with the sentiment, tweeting: “I hope there’s no FORCED cross-play. I wanna be able to get destroyed by PC sweats.”
