The Elder Scrolls 6 ‘Leak’ Claims to Reveal Setting, Features, and More

A new rumor making the rounds online claims to reveal The Elder Scrolls 6’s setting, some gameplay features, and more.

Bethesda finally announced the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6 at its E3 2018 press conference with a brief cinematic teaser trailer and logo reveal. Bethesda hasn’t had much to share about The Elder Scrolls 6 since its reveal, as the studio is busy working on projects like new Fallout 76 content and the upcoming Starfield. However, a new rumor making the rounds online claims to reveal more details about The Elder Scrolls 6though fans should take the information with a massive grain of salt.

The information was shared on Twitter by user SkullziTV, citing anonymous sources. SkullziTV was unable to verify if this new Elder Scrolls 6 information was accurate, and other leakers chimed in to say that they received similar information that they were also unable to verify. Considering this, fans should treat these claims with a healthy amount of skepticism. While they could be true, it’s perhaps the more likely scenario that they have been completely fabricated.

With that caveat in mind, the rumor claims that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be set in Hammerfell, and that it will have a “political system” involving betrayals, marriages, and factions. None of this would be new to The Elder Scrolls brand, but the implication here is that these features will be given more importance in the new game.

The other claim is that The Elder Scrolls 6 will not have dragons. Dragons played a key role in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, with the main quest all about figuring out why the dragons have returned. And so with the creatures being such a big focus of that game, it wouldn’t be all that surprising for The Elder Scrolls 6 to ditch them, if nothing else but for variety’s sake.

And finally, the rumor claims that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in full development right now (which may be hard to believe since Starfield isn’t out yet), and that the game is looking to launch at some point in 2025 or 2026. The Elder Scrolls 6 release date is definitely going to be years away, so the 2025 to 2026 window doesn’t seem unrealistic.

Again, fans should take all this information with a massive grain of salt until official word comes from Bethesda or Xbox. As it stands, it’s highly unlikely that fans will see much of The Elder Scrolls 6 at all until some time after Starfield launches, so no one should be holding their breath that they’ll get clarification on these leaks any time in the near future.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development.
