PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for February 2022 Announced

February 2022’s PS Plus games have been officially announced. And, if you can believe it, they didn’t get leaked beforehand! That’s right, for the first time in over seven monthswe’ve actually been waiting on Sony’s reveal.

This is what subscribers are getting:

The PS Blog notes that Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is only the PS4 version of the game — although as far as we understand, no native PS5 version exists. The opposite applies to Planet Coaster, which doesn’t include the PS4 version, and that edition does exist. The games will be available to download from Tuesday, 1st February.

Ultimately, we liked Frontier’s theme park simulator in our Planet Coaster PS5 reviewawarding it a 7/10 overall: “If you enjoy business management simulations, then we recommend purchasing a ticket for Planet Coaster: Console Edition. While the coaster creation controls can be unwieldy, Frontier’s done a generally decent job of mapping a very complicated title to the DualSense controller.”

We also felt pretty content in our EA Sports UFC 4 PS4 reviewdishing out a robust 8/10: “EA Sports UFC 4 is not a massive departure from its predecessor, but it’s a significantly better game. EA Vancouver has successfully recognized the way fans want to play, and with its array of arcade-inspired options and emphasis on Career mode, it will appeal to casual fans of the sport as well as MMA obsessives alike. While the ground game still needs work, it’s much more approachable now, and we really like the fast-paced Blitz Battles as an accompaniment to the most traditional online ranked matches.”

And we even liked Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, in our standalone PS4 review: “Is this One-Shot Adventure an essential replay? Absolutely not, but as a nice primer for the upcoming leap into Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, this chaotic dose of cell -shaded action-fantasy is well worth the short return trip.”

Unfortunately, Tiny Tina is cheap, standalone expansion pack that was already given away to PS Plus subscribers a couple of years ago as part of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. And, while there are good games here, they’re not major names, which is disappointing at a time when PlayStation’s subscriptions are under increased scrutiny. Is there something that you really like the look of on offer here? Pray for the rumored PS Plus overhaul in the comments section below.
